Ultimately I wanted to be able to run faster. I've run for years regularly. I've also completed a few races but I've never been very speedy.
I thought personal training would help me to improve my speed and help me lose a few pounds from my waistline!
So I signed up to weekly PT sessions. My initial assessment showed that I was in pretty good nick, well apart from my flexibility which is a little ironic considering in my youth I was a synchronised swimmer!
So we focused on my flexibility and my running speed.
As part of my initial assessment, we also looked at my diet. I had to record everything I ate each day. Prior to completing this, I would have said that I eat fairly healthily. When I saw everything written down, I realised that maybe I was snacking too much, not drinking enough water and having far too many cuppas! Tracey was really helpful in offering me some suggestions for alternative diet choices.
Throughout my PT sessions, Tracey helped me work on my running speed, we also worked on my flexibility and strength.
Just before Christmas, I was challenged to run 5 km at TB runners run group. I was determined to run as fast as I could! I did...and I smashed my personal best!! I was thrilled, my personal training sessions had really helped! My certificate from the run is now proudly hanging in my kitchen!
Personal training has also helped me lose a few pounds...my skinny jeans are a little bit more comfy. As for my flexibility, I can now touch my toes!!
I've really enjoyed my personal training sessions. Tracey is a lovely friendly trainer that will push you but she'll always ensure you are comfortable with everything!
